Serving those who are responding to God’s call to love.

Your Love is Strong

Our Father in heaven
Holy is Your name
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth
As it is in heaven
Give us today enough to eat
Forgive us for hurting one another and give us strength to forgive those that hurt us
Help us not to be tempted by the world and what it has to offer
Protect us from the evil one that plots against us
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever…amen.
The Lord’s Prayer. Contemplate. Marinate in the words. Let Him enter your heart. Be still…quiet. Allow the Holy Spirit to flow. Listen now. Be patient and listen.
Thank you father for all you give us that we may or may not see or thank you for. We lay ourselves down at your feet and ask for forgiveness. We are sorry we forget. We will try to do better. Thank you for your son. Amen.

Sometimes it’s just that simple. A simple prayer. We get all tangled up in details and really all He wants is a simple prayer. Thanks, repentance, forgiveness, request. As my life advances and I get more years under my belt, it becomes easier to fall into the arms of my Savior. There is a struggle we tend to engage in when we are younger. I think it’s our will. I think it’s also our pride. We have plans, we are taught to. We have dreams, we’re told we need to. God loves plans and dreams, he made them. But they can become idols and trip us up. They can take us on a detour that may take some really rough bumps to get us back on the main road where Jesus is.

I’ve been trying to think of some simple, non preachy advice to give my kids or others when I see them struggle (#thestruggleisreal). It’s hard…there’s so much I could say. But I know their growth is in the journey, so my over-detailed advice seems too much. It honestly makes me tired and causes me to return to my own prideful pitfalls and idolatry. When it all comes down to it, all I can come up with is, “Keep your eyes on Jesus”. It’s pretty much that simple. “Your kingdom come…Your will be done,” that’s it. Simple. Do your best to meet with Jesus every day, then once you master that, try every hour, then you’ll find that you need Him every minute of every hour of every day and when you don’t meet with Him, you’ll miss Him desperately. Simple. Try it out.
